November 28, 2011: The Sound of Cash

The upcoming event "The Sound of Cash" will feature online and mobile payment solutions and sound composing for games. As a world premier at an IGDA meeting, we will have a game music battle between two composers at the end of the event. The event takes place in Zurich (exact location to be announced).

Our IGDA Switzerland meetings have been about many things from how to raise money to produce a game, how to produce them technically (Flash, etc.) and organisatorial (Post Mortems) and about visual art design. However, we didn't talk about our other senses such as hearing. Nor did we talk about how to make money. But now, we will:

 

The Sound of Cash

 

Program:

Marc Riedi, representative of payment provider paysafecard.com and Swisscom Fixnet alumni, will talk about offline payment possibilities for games through payment cards and about online and mobile payments for in-game purchases.

  • Christoph Polus and Red Ochsenbein will briefly introduce how game sounds are created and afterwards having a great game sound battleChris Polus worked in the IT industry for over 10 years and knows projects inside out. He does music for 4 years and recently founded his own business where he offers music composition, sound design and voice over services.

     

Special: As a world premier at an IGDA meeting, we will have a game music battle between the sound composers at the end of the event.

 

Where: The event takes place at the MechaArtLab at Hohlstrasse 52 in 8004 Zürich, near Helvetiaplatz.

 

When: The event starts at 18:00 sharp and ends at 21:00.
